1891 – P.T. Barnum (Phineas T. Barnum), US circus promoter (B & Bailey), dies at 88.



1891 - Nebraska introduces 8 hour work day.
1897 - Walter Winchell, Harlem NYC, newscaster/columnist (Untouchables) (d. 1972) is born.
1902 - Texas Oil Company (Texaco) forms.
